The Leica KE-7A is one of the rarest military Leica cameras ever produced, manufactured specifically for the U.S. Army in the early 1970s. Only about 505 units were made. The KE-7A body is technically based on the Leica M4, engraved with the military marking “U.S. Army.” It comes with the Elcan 50mm f/2 lens (Ser.No. 278-0293), a special design developed by Ernst Leitz Canada. This lens is extremely rare, both optically and as a collector’s piece, as it was produced almost exclusively for military service. The offered set is in mint condition, comprising the camera, lens, rare original hood, front cap, ever-ready case, and the rare original technical manual brochure.
