Leica IIIg Swedish Military Black Paint Edition
For the Swedish military, Leitz produced only 125 units of the Leica IIIg in satin black paint, serial numbers 987901–988025. These special cameras were engraved with the three “Crowns of Sweden” on the rear of the top plate.
Offered here is an extremely rare Leica IIIg Swedish military version, in original and unrestored condition. The camera shows a beautiful, honest patina with light wear around the edges, consistent with careful military use.
It comes with an Elmar 2.8/5cm lens no. 1540233 (lens without crowns engraving). Both body and lens are in very good condition, and the camera remains in fully working order.
A highly desirable collector’s piece, and one of the rarest black paint Leica screw mount cameras ever produced.
