A very rare Leica R7 cut-away demonstration camera, produced for factory training, dealer presentations and exhibition purposes. This special display model was carefully sectioned by Leica to reveal the internal mechanical and electronic construction of the R7 SLR, allowing a clear view of the mirror box, focal-plane shutter, film transport system and electronic control components.
Cut-away cameras of this type were never offered for commercial sale and were produced only in very small numbers for instructional and display use within the Leica network. Such models illustrate the sophisticated engineering of the R-system, Leica’s professional single-lens reflex line.
The Leica R7, introduced in 1992/93, represents the final and most advanced stage of the Leica R-series cameras designed in cooperation with Minolta, featuring electronically controlled shutter speeds and sophisticated exposure automation. This demonstration model provides a fascinating insight into the camera’s internal architecture and construction.
An unusual and highly attractive technical display piece, rarely encountered on the market and particularly appealing for Leica collectors, museums or specialized camera collections.
Condition: very clean cosmetic condition; created as a non-operational demonstration model.
